โจทย์ข้อนี้เป็นการทดสอบการใช้ tense จากโจทย์ keyword  คือคำว่า at this time last week ซึ่งเป็นตัวบอกเราถึง tense ที่ใช้ ซึ่งก็คือ past continuous นั้นเอง ซึ่ง tense นี้ ใช่เล่าเหตุการณ์หรือการกระทำที่กำลังดำเนินอยู่ ณ ช่วงเวลาใดเวลาหนึ่งในอดีต

ในการใช้ past continuous tence  ต้องมีการ จุด reference ในเวลาที่เกิดขึ้น เช่น เหตุการณ์อ้างอิง หรือ เวลาที่เหตุการกำลังเกิดขึ้นในอดีต เช่น

โดยมีโครงสร้างคือ

S + was/were + V1 +ing 

เช่น

The phone rang while she was talking a shower. (the phone rang เป็น  เหตุการณ์อ้างอิง)
John was driving at 10 a.m. last night. (at 10 a.m last night เป็น  เวลาที่ใช้อ้างอิง)
