โจทย์ข้อนี้เป็นการทดสอบหลักการใช้ indirect speech/reported speech
 จากประโยค  เราสังเกตุได้ว่า กริยาหลักเป็น told เป็น past ฉนั้น กริยาของประโยครองก็ต้องเป็น past  เช่นกัน คำตอบที่ 1 และ 4 ตัดออก (cross out) ได้ เหลืออีกสองข้อ  คือคำตอบ 2 และ 3
ข้อสามแปลว่า พ่อและแม่ของฉันบอกให้ฉันได้ ระวังมากกว่าเดิม ซึ่งฟังดูไม่ค่อย make sense  คำตอบที่ถูกต้องเลยเป็นข้อสอง had to be

This question is testing indirect speech or reported speech. We see that my parent told me, the verb to tell which is told is V2 so we could cross out answer 1 and 4. Answer number 3 does not make sense, so the answer is number 2 - had to be.

have to VS must
had to มาจาก have to แปลว่า ต้อง หรือ จำต้อง ซึ่งความหมายเดียวกับ must

ข้อแตกต่างของ have to และ must คือ must ไม่มีรูป (form)ที่เป็น verb 2 ได้ เวลาจะพูดถึง ต้องทำอะไรในอตีด จึงต้องใช้คำว่า had to แทน เช่น

I had to be more careful.
ผมต้องระวังให้มากกว่าเดิม

ส่วนในรูป ของ  future หรืออนาคต ก็ต้องใช้ will have to
I will have to be more careful.
ผมจะต้องระวังให้มากกว่าเดิม
